Polly Higgins is a lawyer who has refused to accept business as usual for her client.  Taking the Earth as her client, Polly has proposed to the UN a crime of Ecocide, to sit alongside Genocide. During war it is a crime to destroy vast tracts of land, but during peace-time there is no crime against it. This anomaly in the law has allowed the damage and destruction of the planet to escalate out of control.
